Hey everyone! Happy Final Four Saturday, live from East Tennessee. No, I didn’t end up making the impulse trip, but I hope everyone reading in Arizona (or really, wherever you’re at) is having a delightful Saturday. It’s 61 and sunny here and I just saw a cardinal fly by at 97 MPH.
This isn’t any sort of grand post, just a schedule update. I had plans this week to do Final Four previews for both men’s and women’s, which later got reduced to a “one key action” idea where I’d show off one key play each team runs, which is now reduced to no post at all. I had a horror-show of a week: a kitchen flooring install, a new employee at my day job, the next-to-last week of marathon training, and multiple other not-so-fun aspects of these weekdays. I am well and truly whooped.
Rather than attempt to grind out a weak attempt at a Final Four preview, I decided to opt out of doing men’s or women’s, which blows but is what it is. The entire month of March was wildly busy, which preceded a week where I had to get multiple projects to the finish line at an 8-5. That’s how it usually goes. Generally, I can handle it fairly well, but I’m pretty dead, to be honest. I’m all good, of course, but just explaining the lack of content this week. My apologies, and sorry if that’s not what you signed up for.
However! There will be three more pieces for the ‘23-24 college basketball season, then I’m going to take a break before the offseason.
A championship game preview of Iowa/South Carolina WBB, up tomorrow morning (Sunday).
A championship game preview of the men’s side of things, likely UConn/Purdue, up Monday afteroon.
A ‘lessons learned’ post from the season as a whole, probably up Thursday or Friday depending on personal scheduling.
I hate posts like these because they’re sort of an admission of failure, but whatever, such is life. I probably would’ve been mildly embarrassed of it a couple years ago but not now, we went hard this year with a ton of good posts and info. We’ve only got 56 more hours of college basketball before it goes dormant for 6+ months. Enjoy it. See ya tomorrow morning.
Mile 19 will suck, but you’ll get through it.
