If I’m recalling correctly it was the first FCS school alphabetically you could choose in the NCAA Football series? Like when you were scheduling a Week 1 game against an FCS school before they made them FCS Midwest?
Initially I thought they participated in the first ever NCAA Tournament play-in game, but I was a year off (2002, not 2001). They did win the SWAC regular season title last year, their first in 20 years, and then proceeded to lose in their conference championship game by 25. Still, this is a top-3 SWAC team in a year where the SWAC has been alarmingly good against Big Six opponents. But, again, 270th in KenPom and lost to Texas A&M Corpus Christi by 31. This is on a Sunday at 6 PM for uh reasons.
