Well, this is certainly a basketball game. Austin Peay (via Clarksville, TN) is a mid-table Atlantic Sun team who is 0-4 against teams in the KenPom top 150 and 6-2 against everyone else. They play slower offensively than all but ten teams in America. They rank 336th in offensive 2PT% and 351st in defensive 2PT%. But. But! They are the Governors, they also have a 931 area code in their cell phones, and they held Purdue to 63, which looks more impressive by the day.

The problem is that they scored 44 and that they also lost to NC State by 49 and #243 Bucknell by 14. KenPom has them projected to score 50, which somehow feels a little charitable. Much like Tennessee’s players in the back of their minds, presumably, we are all just pushing to get to Christmas break.
