Show Me My Opponent, 2023-24: Texas A&M, Part Two
Fine we'll do it again since you loved the first game so much
It’s Saturday in Possible Spring, and Texas A&M is in town to take on Tennessee. The good news about the earlier game this season versus A&M for Tennessee is that it’s still a Quadrant 1 loss. The bad news is everything else. A&M used up all of their shooting luck for the season against Tennessee, apparently.
A&M versus Tennessee, 2/10: +12.7% 3PT%
A&M versus the next three opponents: -7% 3PT%
Is that exclusively why A&M has lost three in a row? No, but it doesn’t hurt one’s case. The ShotQuality numbers from the game bore it out a little:
So, no, I don’t look at this game out of pure horror. I more look at it as “get through it.” A&M will get some buzz here as a Team That Has to Win, but everyone looks past the part where if you’re on the bubble you probably haven’t won many of these games to start with. I also possibly think a Just and Right God would not let an offense as sickening as this one into the NCAA Tournament.
BEHIND THE WALL ($): A lot of missed shots, perhaps more fun
